One month has passed since Berlin’s World Money Fair 2025 took place. What does the fair tell us about the future of the world of bullion and numismatics?
The World Money Fair, as their motto suggests really is “The place to be” for everyone taking part in the world of precious metals, bullion, numismatics and other collectibles. Whether it’s mints, central banks, technologists, designers, private collectors or investors, everyone meets each January/February during the fair to discuss the latest happenings in the market, see the latest innovation, do business (and relax at the bar on Saturday evening).
In 2024, the energy at the fair was arguably low, primarily due to the fact the bullion market took a massive hit in demand in 2023 and everyone was still struggling.
Thankfully, this year, the mood was palpably positive.
We have noticed a rather sharp rise in demand for silver bullion in the past few weeks. Silver price has been stuck in consolidation for the past year, so this may be an early indicator of an incoming breakout. The demand for physical silver, whether it’s manufacturing, jewellery or bullion, has been steadily rising and is set to continue in its rise in the coming decade. Despite this, the price has remained relatively stable. For the past 5-10 years, there has been a lot of speculation about a major silver bull run which would have the price reach three digits, however it seems this prospect is still just wishful thinking of the investors.
After the extremely weak 2 years for bullion, the modern numismatics market has re-focused to more collector-oriented products, such as low-mintage proof coins with colorisation, antique finish, enobling or other premium surface finishes and post-processing methods. In 2025, Pressburg Mint is planning many new product variations within your favourite design series.
